Temporary housing order & free range egg
In some areas across the UK and continental Europe, a temporary housing order on birds is in place as a precaution against a strain of bird flu. While these protective measures continue, some of our products which use free range eggs may need to temporarily change their on-pack claims to meet legislation.
At present, all our Hellmann’s Mayonnaise products continues to use free range eggs and we are actively working with our farmers to maintain this supply where possible. In the event our eggs can no longer be classified as free range, we will update our on-pack labels and our website to ensure consumers are informed.
Supporting our farmers and protecting the welfare of our animals is always a top priority. In line with our Sustainable Agriculture Code we will ensure that our birds are kept under the highest standards of welfare while the housing order remains in place.
